Walk is a smart insole that helps make navigation a more seamless and enjoyable experience for young travellers. It helps young travellers navigate new and unfamiliar places easily. A GPS notification system is linked to vibration motors in the insole, nudging the user in the right direction. Instead of constantly referring to their smartphones, users can navigate the city in a more natural way - controlling their device through a series of foot gestures. This allows young travellers to ‘look up’ and be more present in their new environments. They get to enjoy travelling in a different, physical and intimate way. The Walk insole is connected to a companion app. The app can record traveller hotspots (frequently visited by Walk users), bookmark favourite locations and store Walk routes. Users can also track their friends or family location. With this shoe insole, young travellers can go travelling and walk with hands-free instead of glancing down at their phone.
